Role summary: We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and support the implementation, modification, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, health, safety, environmental, and information security requirements while supporting organisation-wide change programmes and assurance activities.
This role requires a strong understanding of management systems, regulatory frameworks, governance, and change management, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
What you will be doing:
Leading the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
Supporting business-wide change initiatives, ensuring quality, compliance, and governance requirements are embedded throughout the change lifecycle.
Providing expert guidance on regulatory compliance, assurance, and management system requirements.
Supporting the implementation and modification of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems.
Developing, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures, standards, and management system documentation.
Monitoring compliance against internal requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards.
Planning and conducting internal audits and supporting external audits, inspections, and assessments.
Providing support and oversight relating to safety case implementation, modification, and change management activities.
Supporting licence condition ownership and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and requirements.
Driving a culture of continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of process enhancements.
Producing management information, assurance reports, and performance metrics for senior leadership and governance forums.
Collaborating with operational, engineering, environmental, safety, and compliance teams to achieve organisational objectives.
Supporting environmental permitting activities and decommissioning programmes where required.
Providing mentoring and guidance to colleagues on quality, compliance, and assurance best practices.
Formal qualifications or training:
Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Quality Management, Engineering, Environmental Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 27001.
Auditor qualification and/or practical experience relating to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
Demonstrable experience implementing, modifying, and improving Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and governance within a highly regulated industry.
Experience of supporting organisational, enterprise-level, or fleet-wide change management programmes.
Knowledge of safety case implementation, modification, and management processes.
Experience of licence condition frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Experience of environmental permitting and/or decommissioning activities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
Experience within sectors such as nuclear, energy, defence, utilities, rail, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
