Role summary: We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support a multidisciplinary Systems Engineering team within a large, complex technical programme. The role focuses on managing system interfaces and associated documentation to ensure alignment, traceability, and successful approval across multiple stakeholders.
The successful candidate will take a proactive lead in coordinating interface activities, developing structured documentation, and maintaining accurate, auditable records. In addition to interface management, the role provides broader Systems Engineering support across the programme lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
Interface Management:
Lead the development, coordination, and ongoing maintenance of interface sheets to ensure clear definition and control of system boundaries and interactions.Interface Documentation Control:
Manage and control Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), ensuring completeness, consistency, configuration control, and progression through review and approval stages.Database Development & Maintenance:
Develop, manage, and maintain structured databases for ICDs and OLAs, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and traceability.Reporting:
Play a key role in producing accurate and timely reports related to interface management metrics, status tracking, and programme-level insights.Systems Engineering Artefacts:
Produce and maintain Systems Engineering artefacts in accordance with the applicable Systems Engineering Management Plan, supporting governance, assurance, and lifecycle requirements.General Systems Engineering Support:
Provide broader support to the Systems Engineering team, contributing to coordination activities, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
Experience in Systems Engineering within complex technical or regulated environments.
Strong understanding of interface management principles and document control processes.
Experience managing controlled technical documentation and configuration management systems.
Ability to develop and maintain structured technical databases.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
High attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
