Description:
DBD are looking for a student currently studying Chemical Engineering, who is excited by the idea of solving some of the most complex and challenging problems in the nuclear industry.
You would join our process engineering team involved in multiple projects across the nuclear industry, including waste reprocessing, decommissioning, and site management. Your work will also be highly integrated with our process engineering, and nuclear safety and security teams.
Our ideal candidate would be a motivated self-starter, keen to develop their skills and experience and take on responsibility for their technical work with customers. Good technical communication skills are essential, as are problem-solving skills.
Location: Hybrid remote - you must be within commutable distance of our office in Birchwood Park, Warrington
Requirements:
- Penultimate-year student in chemical engineering who will return to final year of studies post-placement.
- Availability for duration of 12 month contract (with provisions for academic requirements)
- Expected mark 2.1 or above
- Fundamental broad grounding in science and engineering and a keen interest
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience making process flow diagrams and P&IDs using Microsoft Visio/BlueBeam/AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of HAZOP and the fundamentals of how a HAZOP study works.
