Role summary;
DBD is a trusted advisor to the nuclear industry and is leading digital transformation within the organisations cleaning up the US legacy sites. We are looking for a Solutions Architect to design and implement innovative technology solutions that streamline and enhance our customers’ operations.
Within DBD, we expect you to speak on behalf of our clients and to articulate their requirements based on your interactions with them. You will use your in-depth domain knowledge to find the best solutions to meet their needs and kickstart their design and implementation, together with our development teams.
What you will be doing;
- Work with stakeholders to map current processes ongoing at customer organisations; defining the roles at play and their responsibilities.
- Develop an understanding of interactions, challenges, opportunities within customer organisations and areas for improvement or automation.
- Be proactive and engaging with the customer to collect all of the relevant information and hear from all of the players involved.
- Define the requirements for solutions to achieve the best practicable improvements.
- Design solutions; choosing the appropriate software platforms and foreseeing how they will interact with users and with each other. Developing solution roadmaps, ensuring they are followed and managing any changes in requirements.
- Be the voice of the customer internally, ensuring that development is aligned to design and that the solution will deliver the benefits and improvements required.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and the DBD development teams to provide customer based improvement feedback.
- Providing coaching, mentoring and training to other players in our mission optimisation and digital transformation teams.
Experience required;
- Public cloud technologies, design patterns, and best practice.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- An understanding of business operations and logistics and the metrics used to determine and measure performance.
- Relational database design/modelling, technologies, design patterns, tools, and best practice.
